The National Gambling Treatment Service (NGTS) campaign has shown the first successful results. GambleAware has published a report of the awareness level increasing. The targeted group is high-risk male gamblers. Check the latest casino news to stay tuned for the updates.
The NGTS campaign is targeted at male gamblers and affected others, such as family members, partners, friends, etc.
In August 2021, there were 74% male gamblers and 79% others, which recognized the campaign. The majority of the high-risk gamblers said that they would contact NGTS in the first place in the presence of problem gambling. There were 47% of such gamblers in May 2020, and in August 2021 the percentage increased to 60%.
This campaign is based on the research, which reports that the biggest number of high-risk gamblers is in London and the Midlands. 40% of male gamblers aged from 16-44 in these regions chose the NGTS or the National Gambling Helpline as the solution for problem gambling.
According to the fact of a grown number of gamblers after the pandemic (38% in August 2021, compared to 24% in May 2020), the awareness of such helping establishments must be increased.
