Matt Davies, Head of Retail at Star Sports, noticed that the main goal of the UK bookmakers is to entertain the customers and keep them safe. He has also mentioned that the market is working on joining all the channels together, which will guarantee omnichannel retail.
The retail opportunities in the betting industry were discussed as well. Carlo Di Maio, CEO of Romania at Fortuna Entertainment Group, is sure that retail is still very important for the betting operators’ revenues. If the customers are fully satisfied, the profit is growing in direct ratio with the users’ activity.
According to Carlo Di Maio, the Romanian market is trying to keep the land-based operators alive. However, currently, Romania is on the 4th COVID-19 wave, and at the same time, the percentage of the green passes in Romania is 40%.
Talking about Italy, the speaker has mentioned that Italian customers prefer cash payment more than cards, and currently, the Italian market is trying to figure out how to provide a less-stressed transfer into the digital space and make the retail work.
