WSOP has officially announced COVID-19 rules for its 2021 event, according to the news about the poker industry.

All those who want to participate in the tournament and Main Event will be required to have proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination.

Close distance between players is the reason for the decision

According to the WSOP Executive Director, the availability of the vaccination certificate is the only way out as the tournament implies that players will sit near each other. The event organizers want to ensure the proper safety of participants. In addition to this, such a requirement will help to avoid complications during the event.

The vaccination proof has to be shown during the first registration. It can be done via the CLEAR smartphone app and its Health Pass function. Those players who have the confirmation in CLEAR can go to the registration booth, while the participants with other types of vaccination certificates can visit a special center located in the event’s venue where they will be able to verify them. It is worth mentioning that the second vaccine should be done not less than fourteen days before the competition.
