NHL Betting Preview and Best Bets (February 25): Oilers Out to Extend Streak

By | February 25, 2021

It’s another tasty Thursday for NHL betting, as there are ten games on tonight’s schedule to take a look at.

The Montreal Canadiens have made a coaching change, firing Claude Julien and slapping the interim tag on assistant coach Dominque Ducharme. The Canadiens take on the Winnipeg Jets tonight, seeking to end February on a more positive note than much of the month has been.

The month has been an excellent one for the Edmonton Oilers, who are the hottest team in the NHL at the moment. After beating Vancouver for their 10th win in 12 games on Tuesday, the Oilers look to double up the Canucks before heading home for a highly-anticipated three-game stretch against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Those are just a couple of the games on tonight’s ledger. Here’s a look at those games and the rest of the day’s schedule, along with today’s NHL best bets.

The OVER is 7-4-0 in Washington’s home games this season. However, it is 1-4-0 in their last five games overall, and the over has failed to hit in Pittsburgh’s last four games.

The OVER is 10-4-0 in Vancouver’s games against other opponents, and it is 8-5-1 in Edmonton’s games against other opponents.

February 25 Super Six NHL Best Bets

  • 1. Jets to win vs Canadiens (Best Bet): New coach, same result.
  • 2. Predators vs Red Wings UNDER: Obviously the over will end up hitting here, because the best laid plans and all of that. But the under is indisputably the best play for this one.
  • 3. Oilers vs Canucks OVER: The over has come out a winner in their other meetings this season, and it is the best play for tonight’s matchup.
  • 4. Blackhawks vs Blue Jackets UNDER: The two high-scoring games that these two have had recently make the over appealing here. But the under is the better play based on the overall body of results.
  • 5. Lightning to win vs Hurricanes: The Lightning have taken the last two games against the ‘Canes and should make it three in a row tonight to officially put their recent blip behind them.
  • 6. Flames vs Senators UNDER: The under is the best bet in this spot based on the frequency of unders on both sides.
