Morocco Will Select New National Lottery Operator

The news about the lottery sector informs that Morocco has announced a tender for the next National Lottery operator.

On January 1, 2023, the Moroccan state-owned company La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS), which controls the lottery sector in the country, will select the winner of the bidding. New Morocco National Lottery operator will get an eight-year license for providing lottery, bookmaking, and other services. The contract also has an option of a 2-year extension.

Things to know about the application process

All interested companies must submit their applications to La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports. The deadline for filing and submitting tender documents is April 4, 2022. On that day MDJS will hold proposal opening proceedings in the company’s headquarters in Casablanca.

Bidders may send their applications via post or present them during the opening sessions. The application fee is MAD10 000 (around USD1 079). Operators can submit their proposals for providing the following services:

fixed-odds and pari-mutuel sports betting (except for wagering on horseracing and greyhound racing);
lottery, instant sports lottery, and lottery raffles.
