KSA Won’t Allow Illegal Operators To Provide Services on Facebook

The Dutch Gambling Authority, Kansspelautoriteit, started a new fight against illegal operators. This time, the bingo and lottery sectors are under the attention. Kansspelautoriteit imposes a ban on Luxury Bingo (via Facebook) and the lottery BSB Shop (via Facebook and platform Discord). Check the latest news on the legislation sector for more.

The illegal activity of the operators on such platforms like Facebook is a frequent event. The Dutch Gambling Authority took all possible measures. The first time, the KSA warned Luxury Bingo and asked the online operator to stop the illegal activity. Luxury Bingo deleted a Facebook page, but the fine of €3 000 was already imposed.

The BSB Shop’s reaction to the KSA’s warning caused an even bigger fine. The bingo operator deleted the page on Facebook and then moved to Discord. In this case, a fine will be €7 000.

According to the latest gambling news, the KSA has been working with Facebook for some time. This cooperation can help destroy illegal online gambling in the Netherlands.

In November 2020, the gambling authority announced that Facebook would participate in fighting against illegal gambling offers on the platform. The KSA can send a message so Facebook deletes a page.

The KSA also asked the users to pay more attention to the online offers. The authority warned about the importance of the legal and safe gambling market.
