By | October 4, 2021

Kansspelautoriteit, the regulator of the newly launched Dutch online gambling market, has opened a consultation dedicated to the gathering of gambling addiction data.

On October 1, licensed operators could officially start services provision in the Netherlands, which became the main topic in all casino news articles. Now they will need to adhere to a number of rules, and problem gambling analysis is one of them.

Licensees can express thoughts on the regulations

The KSA has decided to provide license holders with the opportunity to disclose their thoughts on the regulations on the provision of gambling addiction data. The consultation will help the Dutch gambling watchdog to understand what form will be the most suitable for operators. Every casino site is obliged to detect problem gambling cases, analyze them, and take measures to prevent addiction among players. In addition to this, licensees are required to provide reports. These data will be used by specialized institutions for scientific studies.

Operators can submit their suggestions till November 1, 2021. Kansspelautoriteit won’t be able to comment back on all the remarks but is going to consider them while preparing the regulations.
