Italian Online Gambling Revenue Dropped in October

By | November 30, 2021

According to the latest financial news about the Italian iGaming market, October wasn’t the most successful month for it.

The low performance of the sports wagering sector became the reason for decreased GGR of the online gaming market as a whole.

Italy’s online gambling revenue by sectors

As it has been reported, the iGaming profit for October 2021 is €243.9 million, which is 1.2 percent less than in October 2020. In addition to this, the revenue dropped in comparison to the previous month – by more than 11 percent.

The biggest part of the revenue has been generated by the online casino and slots vertical – €148 million. Online wagering on sports hasn’t contributed much to the month’s total – only €76 million, while the combined revenue for both online and retail sports betting sectors for October is €117 million. It is a 51.6 percent decline compared to 2020 and a 37 percent downturn from September. Poker tournaments, cash, and bingo games have contributed €8.4, 5.6, 4.9 million respectively. It is worth mentioning that October 2021 has become a strong period for poker as the vertical has shown the best financial results since April.
