GGPoker Is Among Licensed Poker Ops in the Netherlands

By | September 30, 2021

The launch of the remote gambling market in the Netherlands is discussed in many poker news articles as well, as poker operators are also interested in providing their services in the country.

However, not all gambling companies could meet the KSA’s requirements and comply with the regulations. For example, PokerStars was asked to leave the market before its opening. The news article about this is available on the Login Casino website.

GGPoker could secure a license

While not all operators could obtain a license from the Dutch gambling regulator, GGPoker is among those who have succeeded in this. Although the Kansspelautoriteit developed a strict regulatory framework for the newly-launched market, GGPoker made an effort to enter it legally.

Earlier this year, several poker rooms have received a letter, which has notified them about the possible consequences if they continue providing online services without permission from the KSA. The companies had to stop operation in the country, otherwise, they would be fined.

GGPoker prevented itself from these troubles by exiting the market a couple of years prior to its launch. It has allowed the poker operator to reenter the Netherlands legally, which can significantly boost its gross gaming revenue in the future. As the Dutch state-owned gambling company Holland Casino is also on the list of licensees and is going to offer online poker, it means that GGPoker will face strong competitors in the regulated space.
