At the time of 2021, Veikkaus’s gambling profits have been shared between organizations of culture, sports, science, youth, and social welfare and health. The minister wants to implement the change until 2024. He is sure that this revenue must come into the state budget to use it for good purposes.

This idea of reforming the income transfer is also supported by the group chaired by Erkki Liikanen, former Bank of Finland Governor. Moreover, Liikanen took the initiative to reform the gambling income in the country and transfer it to the state budget in 2020.

The importance of reforming is based on the decline in income from the gambling market because of the pandemic situation and restriction against gambling addiction.

What consequences will be without reforms?

Antti Kurvinen assures that some kind of sports will be in an undefined position without any reforms of the budget. However, there’s another political issue. It can make the role of political decisions more important. But it’s still better than budget cuts. All the achievements and changes will be in the gambling news.

Kurvinen said there is a need to pay more attention to the opportunities for the youth of Finland in different areas.
