EGBA’s Safer Gambling Objectives for 2021

As Login Casino has reported previously in the casino news section, the European Gambling and Betting Association (EGBA) continues to promote safe gambling across the European continent.

In the annual sustainability report, EGBA outlines its main sustainability goals for 2021, which include:

develop the common standards on “markers of harm” in European gambling;
update EGBA’s responsibility standards;
encourage the implementation of the association’s 2014 recommendation on consumer protection in iGaming;
issue annual data on safe gambling activities;
start the monitoring of pan-European code of conduct on responsible advertising;
launch the centralized information resource on self-exclusion;
conduct a series of studies on problem gambling, player protection, and gambling behaviors in Europe;
get an official approval on code of conduct on data protection from EU authorities;
develop comprehensive guidelines to tackle money-laundering issues in Europe.

The leading European gambling ops, Kindred, bet365, William Hill, Entain, and Betsson have also contributed to EGBA’s sustainability report. The industry leaders have shared data about their activities to promote safer gambling.

What are the most popular safer gambling tools in Europe?

Tools for safe gambling are essential for any casino operator. According to European Gambling and Betting Association, the share of customers using safer gambling tools in 2020 increased to 12.45 million, which is 75% of all players on casino sites. 5.48 million gamblers used these tools voluntarily.
