Danske Spil’s GGR Wasn’t Affected by COVID-19 and High Tax

By | September 3, 2021

Danske Spil, the Danish gambling operator, has published the news about its finance. According to the company, the H1 of 2021 was successful for it in terms of revenue.

Although the country has been also hit by the pandemic, it hasn’t influenced the GGR generated by Danske Spil.

2021’s H1 is better than this period in 2020

Danske Spil reported about GGR meaning the first half of the current year and comparing it with the same period during the previous year. The operator informed that despite the pandemic’s negative economic effect on the industry and increased taxes, which had grown from twenty to twenty-eight percent, it could generate the GGR of DKK 2 337 million and NGR of DKK 799 million. These figures have improved compared to 2020’s H1.

The company representatives have commented on the financial results, saying that it’s a rather big achievement, taking into consideration greater amounts paid to the state coffers and the pandemic’s impact. However, increased income from Danske Lotteri Spil (DKK 46.7 million) and Danske Licens Spil (DKK 38.1 million) helped to secure profits. The income growth was fuelled by the return of sports events, which was of benefit to the sports betting sector. In addition to this, the lottery vertical could get more profit thanks to large prize pools.

The operator expects to generate DKK 4.6-4.8 billion of GGR in 2021. Get more information about Danske Spil on a gambling online magazine Login Casino.
