According to the news about the betting industry from the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), it has done much to make the betting process during the new football season safer for gamblers.
The industry body reported on the recent measures it took to provide a secure gambling environment for bettors.
BGC is aimed at protecting young people during football events
According to the BGC representatives, the association has done everything possible to protect bettors, especially, the younger audience. The following steps have been taken and highlighted in gambling news:
Whistle-to-whistle ban on promoting bookmaking services on TV 5 minutes prior to an event and 5 minutes after it till 9 p.m.
Rules for football clubs for the use of social media platforms, which prohibit links to betting companies. This also touches upon bonus offers, which are impossible to show only to adults.
The association members also should follow a set of advertising requirements.
Although licensed bookmakers contribute much to the sports industry from their GGR, the protection of vulnerable social groups is still an important task for regulatory bodies. It is worth mentioning that the whistle-to-whistle ban on gambling ads was successful as, according to the data, it allowed to reduce the number of such adverts shown to minors by 97%.
