The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested the blocking of seven websites promoting illegal casinos, as news about the legal sector informs.
Internet services vendors will cease operations of the affiliate websites, which hide behind the casino review web resources.
ACMA says this all is done for customer protection
The organization started its activity against illegal gambling in Australia four years ago. During this time, 144 unlicensed casinos were blocked in the country. Now it is an affiliates’ turn to be punished by the ACMA. Seven marketing platforms got hooked for redirecting users to illegal casinos under the pretense of providing reviews, according to gambling news.
The authority representatives say that they frequently receive complaints from players who have been damaged by foreign casinos, which don’t hold a license. Usually, they also don’t use high-quality casino gaming software and cheat their customers. Affiliate companies get a fee for attracting more players to illegal casinos with which they partner. ACMA promises to continue putting effort into the fight against outlawed gambling.
