Last night was not a winner as we posted a 1-4 record. Granted there were some close misses, but it just felt off as I was watching the games evolve. There were definitely not enough Hornets, who scored 158 points against Indiana).
It is a long NBA season; we are not even to the trade deadline or All-Star game yet.
Tonight, we have just a couple of games on the NBA schedule, so we can keep things tight.
Here are some NBA props that caught my eye from tonight’s Lakers-Sixers and Timberwolves-Warriors matchups.
Top NBA Props for Thursday, January 27
The NBA props listed below are from BetMGM.
NBA Prop Pick #1: Matisse Thybulle Over 6.5 Points (-130)
There are bigger stars in this game, but that is why you are getting so much value with Thybulle. Known mostly for his defense, he gets a good amount of playing time, especially now with Seth Curry and Shake Milton out.
Joel Embiid creates opportunities for all of the other 76ers, and we only need Thybulle to cash in on a few of them to cash this ticket. He has been over this number in 3 of his last 5 games.
NBA Prop Pick #2: Steph Curry Over 24.5 Points (-110)
This is “Steph”, so no scoring prop is ever out of reach really.
You can bet he was thrilled to see that Minnesota guard Patrick Beverley is not going to be suiting up and hounding him all game long. Beverley is an active and savvy defender, and he loves to mix it up with the opponent while Curry is always best as a cool-headed assassin.
Steph has not broken 20 in either of the last two games, but you are not going to get rich betting against him scoring. This is a national game, and he enjoys the spotlight.
NBA Prop Pick #3: Andrew Wiggins Over 23.5 Points Rebounds and Assists (-130)
This is right around his seasonal averages, but I like the spot tonight. Minnesota can score and the Warriors need Wiggins on the floor to hound either D’Angelo Russell or Anthony Edwards, so the opportunity is there.
Wiggins is super talented and has it in him to cover this number just in scoring. His January numbers have been up and down, and the return of Klay Thompson has everyone feeling each other out a little. Tonight, I imagine he might be inspired by seeing his former team though. Most are, like DeMar DeRozan last night.
