Without question the the lifeblood of the horse racing industry is the claiming game. Laurel Park will feature 6 of their 8 races with claiming conditions.

Post: 12:40 PM ET; $44k Maiden Claiming going 5 1/2 furlongs on turf; Entries: 13

  • #4 IN VAIN (5-2) gets the top selection. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one looks to be the class of the field.
  • #2 GALS GAL (15-1) should be competitive in this spot. She is well bred for this spot. The price is right.
  • #13 EMERALD LACE (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. She should be in the right spot to be in with a chance late. This one makes sense on speed figures.
  • #1 LADY MOSLER (10-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She could get the right setup in this race. This one is a good bet to hit the board under these conditions.

  • #2 TARGE (3-1) gets the top selection. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Farrior and Toledo.
  • #5 STARTWITHABANG (1-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She has speed figures that absolutely fit here. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
  • #3 LIGHTFOOT MISS (7-2) could be in with a shot in this race. She goes out for the Capuano barn and gets Aviles in the irons.
  • #1 SO GRACIOUS (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one shouldn’t have trouble with the 1 mile distance.

  • #6 GOLDIE’S BOY (3-1) should be competitive in this spot. He has a good run style for the race and has speed figures that fit with this group.
  • #3 HONOR MY WORLD (12-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. This one is a pace play and will look to get a setup to have his best chance to win.

  • #1 CAVALIER CUPID (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. She has the top overall power rating in the group. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
  • #4 MOODY WOMAN (2-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She makes sense on speed figures. This one may like the pace scenario of this race.
