Kennedy Road (G2): Woodbine Sunday Selections, Analysis

The Sunday card from Woodbine features the grade 2 Kennedy Road. Arzak was installed as the tepid 3-1 morning line favorite in the All Weather feature.

Woodbine- Race 1

Post: 1:20 PM ET; $53.2k Maiden Optional Claiming going 6 1/2 furlongs on all weather track; Entries: 7

  • #1 SOUPED UP (2-1) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race. He has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
  • #4 TRINITY PARK (5-2) debut last out and that race would put her right in the mix. She could step forward as well.
  • #7 ARNIE P (6-1) has pedigree for this spot. This one is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race.
  • #6 DON’T STOP DREAMIN (8-1) has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.

  • #1 MUSKOKA GIANT (5-2) is the top pick. He shouldn’t have trouble with the 7 furlong distance.
  • #5 RUNNINFORCOVER (8-1) seems to fit well enough here. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
  • #7 JUSTIN’S WAY (3-1) has the top overall power rating in the group.
  • #8 BENLION (12-1) is a price horse and will likely have a lot to do in the lane, but could get up with a competitive run.

  • #2 CELEBRATORY (9-2) looks best. He seems to fit very well here. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
  • #6 FIELDER (7-2) should be competitive in this spot. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Gattellaro and Kimura.
  • #7 MARTEN RIVER (2-1) will likely be out on or near the lead and will look to hold off the charge to the wire. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
  • #3 OCELOT (10-1) is a price horse and goes out for the Mcknight barn with Flores in the irons. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.

Woodbine- Race 4

Post: 2:53 PM ET; $44k Starter Optional Claiming going 1 1/16 miles on all weather track; Entries: 13

  • #13 ROCKET JOE COPPER (3-1) gets the top selection. He has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip. This one looks to be the class of the field.
  • #10 RELIABILITY (12-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He shouldn’t have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance.
  • #1 SOLAR (4-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
  • #6 SELFMADE (8-1) runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

  • #9 WICKEDBLACKBULLET (15-1) is a price horse and is the top pick. He shouldn’t have trouble with the 1 mile 70 yard distance. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
  • #10 THREE SONNY SIDEUP (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
  • #5 GLENHOLME (12-1) is a price horse and makes sense on speed figures.
  • #1 ROCK BULLET (6-1) makes sense on speed figures. This one is well bred for this spot.

  • #6 SAMMY STONE (3-1) looks best here. This one is a total pedigree play.
  • #1 WHITEWALKER (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Attard and Hernandez.
  • #7 MAGIC TOMAHAWK (20-1) is a price horse andcomes into the race in really good form. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
  • #2 KING ELVIS (4-1) goes out for the Attfield barn and gets Wilson in the irons.

  • #9 GRANDSON (10-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one looks to be the class of the field.
  • #6 MALIBU UPROAR (3-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
  • #7 MAD MOCHA (4-1) should be competitive in this spot. This one goes out for the Simon barn and gets Flores in the irons.
  • #4 GUESTIMATION (8-1) seems to fit well enough here.

  • #5 CANDY OVERLOAD (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Casse and Civaci.

  • #4 MAGNIFICENT MARIO (6-1) makes sense on speed figures. This one will likely have a lot to do in the lane, but could get up with a competitive run.

  • #1 GRAND GIZMO (6-1) has races good enough to beat this group. This one is well bred for this spot.
  • #11 BELENTIME (4-1) has to be respected going out for the combination of Vella and Kimura.
  • #7 STEALTH MISSION (5-1) runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
